Ask anyone: What's the prettiest spot on The Emerald Coast?

If you look towards Choctawhatchee Bay while you cross the bridge, you'll see Crab Island, a submerged island that's always sprinkled liberally with boats of all kinds, and the
stunning array of boats only makes the scenery more picturesque.

The Crab Island experience is:  If you're lucky enough to be at the beach, then you're lucky enough.

Or:  It doesn't get any better than this.

And if you're a kid or any other person that loves ice cream, it truly can't get any better because you can have your boat anchored on Crab Island and eat ice cream at the same
time.  That is, thanks to my nephew Phil, who has made a career out of hanging out on Crab Island.  He is the fellow that brings you the icing on the cake, or, in this case, the ice
cream on the boat.  We think of him as "Lord of the Island" who collects a form of tax by selling you what you simply have to have while you are there, or you just haven't done it
properly.

These pictures were taken yesterday, July 2, 2007, Destin, Florida, as I drove up to Crab Island and surprised Phil.  I was with some friends on a pontoon boat on our way to do
some snorkeling under Destin Bridge and the East Jetties.   Snorkeling page to be added soon.
