Portrait of Franklin was done for extra credit
in my senior history class at
Choctawhatchee High School, 1974.
Based pen drawing on thumbnail picture of
painting of Franklin in encyclopedia. I
choose Franklin because I thought he had
long hair, which was cool then, especially
because it was against school rules for
boys to have hair that touched our collars.
Turns out that the long hair was really a fur
collar that I could not see from the little
picture.
Touched (to remove smudges) photo today
(27 June 07) of Xerox copy (1980), original
is lost, was Bic fine ball point pen on plain
copy paper, 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
